Following the government decision to subsume the Children Acts Advisory Board (CAAB) into the Office of the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs (OMCYA) the CAAB would like to confirm that the next Evidence to Practice Seminar ‘Assessed so what’ to be held at the Gresham Hotel, Dublin on the 19th of November 2008 will go ahead as planned.

The CAAB is also delighted to report that the OMCYA has confirmed that the Awards for Services to Children and Young People will continue in the future.

 
Evidence to Practice Seminar ‘Assessed – So What!

The second in a series of Evidence to Practice Seminars was held on the 19th of November 2008 in the Gresham Hotel, Dublin. The theme for this seminar was ‘Assessed – So What!’ and its aim was to reflect on the approach to assessment and its benefits for children and their families. Evidence to Practice Seminar: A Different Response Model

The Children Acts Advisory Boards first Evidence To Practice Seminar (ETP) was held in the Gresham Hotel, Dublin, on the 22nd of May 2008.  The objective of ETP seminars is to bring research and best practice to the attention of a wide range of practitioners, managers and policy makers across the children’s sector.

2008 Awards for Services to Children and Young People

The awards ceremony for 2008 was held in Croke Park on the 14th of Feburary. Presentations were made throughout the day by the twenty short listed nominees before the official awards ceremony began at 4.30p.m. Mr. Brendan Smith TD, Minister for Children presented the awards.
